In the business of decorating and painting you are always looking for inspiration where every you are.

If can be the way the sun is reflecting on the water, the presentation of a platter of food, the froth of a cup of cappuccino!

One of my favorite places to find inspiration is on Tumblr   if you click on the link you will see my page.

The patina on the door

The combination of the white exterior and dark interior

The natural wood and white wash top

the use of an antique garden bench

The combo or blue and red hues on the secretary

The white and tin

The garden table in the foyer

The green side board

The combo or white and black

various elements of fire, stone and wood
I hope you  enjoyed some of the ways that I get inspired.  I would love to hear what inspires you!

How To Shabby Up ?

I have a client that is moving into a new home at the end of October.  She has a five (5) year old daughter that was currently using a "progressive" furniture set.  The set is very sturdy, however it is not made from natural wood.    My project was to shabby the piece up....hmmmmm

It is hard to tell for the shots, but the dresser is a cotton candy pink

This is the second piece that I am experimenting with CeCe Caldwell Paint(s) ~  I used a vintage white on this piece.  I exposed some of the inter layering as much as possible since it is a composite wood, I didn't want to reveal too much.

I used Annie Sloan Clear & Dark Wax as the finish

I still have to do the drawers and buy the knobs.. but I am hoping they will be thrilled with the new "old" look ...
As I have mentioned I am still experimenting with CeCe Caldwell paints - I choose to use CeCe's paints for this project as it is a GREEN Paint, and this bedroom set is for a Five (5) year old....so its a no brainer for me.

Do You Barter?

Annual White Party Labor Day Weekend.
I just did a piece for my daughter; pictured (center) in this picture....  She is a mother of two and incredibly talented...and I'm not just saying this because I am her mother....although I do have some bragging rights..

Ever since I started my companies four years ago, she has always helped me with my websites. They were constantly changing and growing as I did.  She recently started her own company gearing to helping small and start up companies along with sporting and community organizations with their websites called Simple Business Solutions.....as you know you can't run a business or organization these days with out a website....

So for exchange of my new web presents......I found this table at a local thrift shop that was the typical Bombay Cherry Colored table, and turned it into a Shore Chicy Design Product.. I am hoping she will like it. It will be delivered today....
I used Annie Sloan Graphite underlay
Added Annie Sloan Old White as a top layer along with some clear wax
Added a hint of gold gilding wax to the shell

Until the next project......
